The road ahead: what we are building for NESKTOP
A look at the NESKTOP roadmap — widget ecosystem, VPS management, centralized team workspaces, and cloud desktop — with clear labeling of what exists today versus what is coming.
Available now: your visual web desktop
Today, NESKTOP gives you a full visual canvas with bookmarks, folders, search widgets (7 engines), notes, popular websites, editor recommendations, presets, saved layouts, layout sharing, multiple pages, desktop and mobile canvases, dark mode, customization, and a released Chrome extension. Dedicated Edge, Firefox, and Opera store releases are planned and are not yet presented as generally available.

Try it freeIn development: widget ecosystem and app marketplace [Coming Soon]
We are building an expandable widget system that will allow third-party developers to create widgets that run directly on NESKTOP desktops. Think weather widgets, analytics dashboards, project trackers, calendar panels, and more — built by the community, installed from a marketplace. This turns NESKTOP from a static canvas into a living, data-connected workspace.
On the roadmap: VPS connection with GUI [Planned]
One of the most ambitious parts of the NESKTOP vision: connect your own VPS servers from providers like DigitalOcean, Hetzner, or AWS, and manage them through a visual GUI directly on your NESKTOP desktop. File management, application deployment, server monitoring — all from the same canvas where you already manage your web tools. This brings server administration into the desktop metaphor.
On the roadmap: centralized team workspaces [Planned]
Team administration features are planned: a team owner can manage member access, push layout updates to everyone, assign role-based desktops, and control branding. This builds on the layout sharing that exists today and turns it into a proper team management layer. Business Early Access is available for organizations that want to pilot these capabilities before general release.
