NESKTOP BROWSER EXTENSION — Terms of Use (EULA)
This section is extension-specific and describes how the Nesktop Browser Extension works, what permissions it may request, and what you control.
Effective date: 2026-01-12

Website: https://nesktop.com
1. Acceptance
By installing or using the Nesktop Browser Extension (“Extension”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension.
2. Who may use the Extension
You must be legally able to form a binding contract in your country and comply with applicable laws.
3. What the Extension does (single purpose)
The Extension is designed to help you use Nesktop, including:
- Replacing the browser New Tab page with a Nesktop dashboard (if enabled)
- Letting you save the current page to Nesktop (if enabled)
- Optionally showing your browser bookmarks and popular sites (from Chrome
topSites) inside the Nesktop UI so you can organize and choose what to save
4. Your controls (Extension settings)
The Extension includes toggle switches to control features. You can:
- Turn the Extension off entirely (master switch)
- Enable/disable New Tab
- Enable/disable “Save current page”
- Enable/disable sharing browser bookmarks
- Enable/disable sharing popular sites (
topSites)
If a feature is OFF in the Extension, it is OFF even if the website requests it.
5. Accounts and sign-in state
Some features require a Nesktop account. For convenience, the Extension may keep its signed-in state consistent with the Nesktop web app so that signing in on one side reflects on the other.
The Extension does not collect or process your password.
6. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Extension for its intended purpose. You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer, or abuse the Extension except as permitted by law.
7. Prohibited use
You agree not to:
- Use the Extension to violate laws or third-party rights
- Misuse it to exfiltrate data or access content without permission
- Circumvent feature toggles, paywalls, or security controls
- Interfere with the Extension, the website, or other users
8. Third-party websites
When you save a page or view content, you may interact with third-party websites. We are not responsible for third-party websites or their content.
9. Availability and changes
We may update, change, or discontinue the Extension (or parts of it). Some updates may be required for compatibility or security.
10. Disclaimers
The Extension is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or error-free performance.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, or business.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Extension anytime by uninstalling it. We may suspend or disable access if required by law, security, or policy compliance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Courts located in Istanbul, Türkiye will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory law says otherwise.

NESKTOP BROWSER EXTENSION — Privacy Policy (Extension-Specific)
This section is extension-specific and explains what the Nesktop Browser Extension can access only when you enable a feature.
Effective date: 2026-01-12
Support email: nesktopinfo@gmail.com
This Privacy Policy explains how the Nesktop Browser Extension (“Extension”) handles data.
A) What the Extension accesses (only when enabled by you)
1) Extension settings & local cache (always)
The Extension stores locally (in Chrome extension storage) things like:
- Your toggle settings (master enable/disable + feature toggles)
- Cached UI/layout data for fast New Tab loading
- A short-lived indicator of your signed-in state (not your password)
2) “Save current page to Nesktop” (only when you click save + feature enabled)
When you actively choose to save a page, the Extension may access and send to Nesktop:
- Page URL
- Page title
- (Optional) favicon / thumbnail (if available)
3) Browser bookmarks (only if you enable “Share Browser Bookmarks”)
If enabled, the Extension can read your browser bookmarks to display them in the web app’s “Browser Folders” UI for organizing/copying.
Bookmarks are read locally in your browser. The Extension does not automatically upload or store your full bookmarks tree on Nesktop servers.
Only the specific folders/bookmarks you explicitly choose to save/import into Nesktop are sent to our servers and stored in your account.
4) Popular sites (only if you enable “Share Popular Sites”)
If enabled, the Extension reads Chrome topSites to show a “Popular Sites” list.
We do not use Chrome History API.
5) Sign-in state (for convenience)
To keep the Extension and web app consistent, the Extension may call Nesktop endpoints to check sign-in state (for example, GET /api/auth/me) using secure session or token mechanisms.
The Extension does not read or store your password.
B) What the Extension does NOT collect
The Extension does not:
- Collect your full browsing history (no History API permission)
- Track your browsing across websites for advertising
- Record keystrokes, form inputs, or page content you view
- Sell your data to third parties
- Inject ads or affiliate links
C) What is sent to our servers (and when)
The Extension communicates with Nesktop servers only for:
- Authentication status checks (to show logged-in/out state)
- User-requested actions, such as saving the current page or saving items you explicitly choose to import into your Nesktop account
Browser bookmarks and topSites are not automatically uploaded to our database. They are used to display in the UI, and are saved to your Nesktop account only if you explicitly choose to save/import them into Nesktop.
D) Where data is stored
- On your device: settings and caches stored locally by the Extension
- On Nesktop servers: only data you explicitly save to your Nesktop account
E) Data retention & deletion
If you turn OFF a feature toggle, related cached data is cleared from local extension storage.
If you turn OFF the master “Extension enabled” toggle, all extension features stop and caches are cleared.
Uninstalling the Extension removes local extension storage.
Items you explicitly saved into your Nesktop account remain in your account until you delete them in the web app.
F) Security
We use modern security practices such as HTTPS for network communication. You should keep your browser and device up to date.
G) Children
The Extension is not intended for children under the age required to consent to data processing in your jurisdiction.
H) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will update the effective date and publish the new version.

NESKTOP BROWSER EXTENSION — Cookies Notice (Extension-Specific)
This section is extension-specific. The extension does not set cookies like websites do.
Effective date: 2026-01-12
1) Does the Extension set cookies?
The Extension itself does not set cookies in your browser in the way websites do.
2) Why cookies may still be involved
Nesktop is a web app. When you sign in on https://nesktop.com, the website may use essential cookies (or similar session mechanisms) to keep you logged in.
To support automatic sign-in state sharing, the Extension may make requests to Nesktop endpoints (for example, GET /api/auth/me) that rely on your existing authenticated session with Nesktop.
3) What types of cookies are relevant (typical)
- Strictly necessary cookies (essential for login/session and core functionality)
If our website uses analytics or marketing cookies, they are documented in our main website Cookie Policy. The Extension does not require marketing cookies to function.
4) How to control cookies
You can manage cookies via browser settings. Logging out of Nesktop and/or clearing site data will remove session cookies according to your browser’s controls.
